A 25 year-old man is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of assault

West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses following a nasty assault on a teenager on Monday afternoon (27 June).

It happened in Faulkners Farm Drive, Erdington just before 4pm. The teenage boy, who officers have not yet spoken to, was badly beaten in a sustained attack witnessed by a number of people.

Police have recovered CCTV from the area and a 25-year-old man is in custody after he was arrested on suspicion of assault earlier today (29 June). Officers are encouraging the boy – thought to be around 15 or 16-years-old - to contact them so that they can make sure he’s okay.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Also anyone who witnessed the attack, or has any information should please get in touch. We realise you may be frightened, but please do the right thing and tell us what you know.”
