A group of about 15 men were filmed attacking a car on Alum Rock Road in Birmingham at just after midnight - in the early hours of Monday (June 27).

The shocking scenes show the men hitting the white car being hit with weapons and smashing its windows.

Two men, aged 23 and 25, were injured during the attack and were taken to hospital - there condition was not ‘life-changing’.

Police said they were called to the scene at 12.05am (Monday). They closed off the road, seized the vehicle and conducted door to door enquiries.

Thousands have watched the video on social media.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a disorder with a group of about 15 men with weapons attacking a car in Alum Rock Road just after 12.05am yesterday (Monday).

“Officers attended and found two men, aged 23 and 25, with injuries which fortunately are not believed to be life-changing. They were taken to hospital by paramedics for further treatment.

“The road was closed off as initial investigations were carried out including house-to-house enquiries and CCTV from the area being checked and retrieved.

“The vehicle has also been seized and will be forensically examined as enquiries continue.

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 0.14am to Alum Rock Road, Birmingham following reports of an assault. An ambulance and paramedic officer attended who assessed and treated two men who had been injured.

“The two men were conveyed to hospital for further checks.”
