James Morrison had particular feeling before West Brom's West Ham masterclass
The Baggies boss wasn’t surprise to see his side put in some a stylish display at West Ham’s London Stadium.
Jubilant boss James Morrison could sense such a masterclass performance was brewing prior to Albion’s West Ham demolition.
The Baggies were at their best to sweep away West Ham at the London Stadium 3-1 on Saturday with a display to remember.
It was a statement performance and result in east London as 3,000 away supporters danced on a triumphant day Morrison declared the most enjoyable of his reign so far.
It lifted Albion to fourth in the Championship as the visitors continued their fine form with the deserved victory. Morrison felt such a performance had been on the way from his in-form troops.
"That team work ethic, doing your best for your team-mates, so you can do your best is a big part of what I believe in,” Morrison said in the wake of the thrilling win at the Olympic village.
"I see the lads day-to-day, how hard they work for each other and are probably getting the rewards.
"I think that performance has been coming. I've been waiting for that performance and I'm happy it was today.
"There was a little bit of disappointment from Preston, in terms of how we weren't cutting at the top end of the pitch, but we were there.”
Classy goals from Felix Horn Myhre, Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Callum Styles earned the stylish visitors three points at the start of a tough week, with Southampton the visitors to The Hawthorns on Tuesday, and Millwall at home on the horizon at the weekend.
“I’ve said about playing our game and showing what we could do - that message was no different,” Morrison added.
“There was noise about the crowd and how West Ham concede early, how it could create pressure. It was really pleasing we did start well and had something to hang on to.

“It was disappointing we went in (at half-time) as it was the only chance they had. But to go again is why I’m so pleased.”
Albion bucked a trend of conceding the first goal in six consecutive games in style.
On a big performance on the big stage in front of 61,000, Morrison said: “Yes - that was it. I saw a team do what we’ve done since pre-season and put it on the big stage.
“With and without the ball we controlled it for large periods. At Wolves the home crowd affected us but we managed it and used it to our ability. Scoring early helped that.”
