Albion enjoyed a stunning afternoon in the capital with a performance to remember.

Albion delivered their best performance in recent memory to claim a stunning 3-1 win at West Ham and leave 3,000 away fans in dreamland.

Boss James Morrison secured the best result of his exciting managerial career as the stylish Baggies were far too strong for West Ham in their own back yard on a statement afternoon.

Three classy goals from the visitors from Felix Horn Myhre, Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Callum Styles blew away the Irons on a sensational Baggies day.

Albion led through impressive Norwegian Horn Myhre before an unfortunate Styles deflected helped Jarrod Bowen equalise in the first half.

But Morrison’s men were relentless in a stunning second period on a Halloween horrorshow for the hosts, with former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo on the end of jeers and “sacked in the morning” cries.

Morgan netted his side’s second within minutes of the restart with another exquisite goal and left-back Styles lashed in the third 17 minutes from time.

Albion banished the run of conceding the first goal and even managed to net from a half-cleared corner as the Baggies delivered the best performance in many a year to climb to fourth ahead of a mouth-watering visit of fifth-placed Southampton on Tuesday.

Optimism had built after seven points from nine after fightbacks but this performance was packed full of everything.

Morrison was hopeful of his side bucking a conceding first trend and improving from set-pieces.

That was put to the test inside a minute as the hosts lifted well over from a corner, but the Baggies soon settled well and caused the Irons some issues.

Horn Myhre and Jimmy-Jay Morgan, preferred in forward areas, pressed hard to deny the shaky home defence any time in possession. Styles went over heavily on the edge of the West Ham box, with nothing doing.

West Ham sent wide of the near post through frontman Pablo and Brayann Pereira blocked a Mohamadou Kante strike over, but it became all Albion, with Morrison’s men dominant in most aspects, particular winning the ball in midfield through the excellent Ousmane Diakite and Jayson Molumby.

The Baggies were on top and the 20th-minute opener came as no surprise, as the trend of shipping first was put to bed.

Some outstanding Isaac Price ability made the goal.

He lifted a beautifully weighted, curled pass into the path of Morgan, who raced clear to the right of the penalty area.

The recalled Morgan repaid his head coach’s faith and showed real composure and teamwork - after taking a goal off Aune Heggebo in the week - to square for the unmarked Horn Myhre, who tapped into an empty net.

The rampant Baggies had a huge opening for 2-0 two minutes later with the Hammers rocking.

Morgan hit the right byline and his fine low cut back fed Price. The Northern Ireland star had too much time and took a touch 10 yards out, before a messy second touch and an off-balance effort was skied.

Albion tails were up and Morgan headed over a Styles corner at the back post from an impossible angle.

From very little, and against the run of play, the hosts were level on half hour.

The hosts’ Kante found the talismanic Bowen in space on the right. Styles appeared to do everything, tracked the run and sent the England man on to his right side, and a low effort appearing to go across goal hit Styles’ leg and wrong-footed Max O’Leary to drill in at the near post.

Albion looked undeterred and responded well. Rabby Nzingoula was lively and missed an opportunity to shoot.

Morrison would have told his players to believe the points were there for the taking - and his troops listened as they delivered three minutes into the restart.

The same trio combined.

Price escaped down the left and his centre was perfect for Horn Myhre. The Norwegian’s delicate first-touch set for Morgan was genius and the striker did the rest.

Morgan took one perfect touch and only needed a second to guide a low finish beyond Mads Hermansen, who had no chance.

Another delightful goal in front of a boinging away end, as Morgan perched himself on the hoardings in celebration.

West Ham showed signs of response in front of an angry home crowd, with Joel Piroe and Manor Solomon introduced.

Chris Mepham stood tall to block from Kanye before O’Leary beat away a drive from range from Kyle Walker-Peters, a Max Kilman header was turned behind by the keeper.

But the Baggies remained a threat as a testing Pereira cross troubled the Irons.

Nuno made an aggressive tripe change with 20 minutes left in the pause after Albion were too generous in stopping play for an injury during an attack.

Good karma immediately came the visitors’ way.

A corner - of all things - was cleared near the goalline by Kilman, but only to Styles who lashed an 18-yard half-volley at goal and it flew in via a deflection to lead the away end in dreamland.

Boos in the London Stadium were deafening by this stage and Jayson Molumby could’ve made it four with 20 minutes left but lifted over.

All that was left was more taunts for Nuno as frustrated home sub Taty Castellanos wasted situations from 30 yards out.

This was a day to live long in the memory for all 3,000 in the away end, and a beaming Morrison on the pitch at full-time.
