Four of West Bromwich Albion’s opening five games for the 22/23 season have already been moved and rescheduled with the fifth being an evening kick-off for TV coverage.

Aside from Albion’s fixture on matchday one away at Middlesbrough, the next four have all been rescheduled due to clashes with the Birmingham 22 Commonwealth Games.

The first game at the Hawthorns has been moved from the weekend of August 6 to Monday August 8 (kick-off 20:00 BST) whilst the Carabao Cup fixture which was scheduled for August 9 has now been moved to August 11, again in a 20:00 kick-off.

Those initial postponements have in turn affected the next round of games.

To ensure the Albion squad get the appropriate rest between matches, the trip to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers has been moved back 24 hours and will take place on Sunday August 14 instead of the Saturday with kick-off remaining 15:00.

Tuesday evening’s scheduled game with Cardiff City on August 16 has also been postponed by 24 hours and will now take place on August 17, kick-off again remaining the same at 20:00.

Got all that? No problem because they’ll all probably get moved for TV coverage again soon!
