New reports suggest that West Brom have received a £15m bid from a Premier League club for star winger Tom Fellows.

West Bromwich Albion have received a late £15m bid for young winger Tom Fellows, according to new reports, as the club once again find themselves at risk of losing a key player on deadline day.

According to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, the Baggies have rejected a substantial new bid from Everton, who have been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old winger, but may face further interest with Brentford and Southampton both named as clubs who could make a move for the England Under-21 international in the future.

There had already been rumours that Everton had made a bid for Fellows earlier on transfer deadline day, but the £15m offer suggested by Delaney is considerably higher than the amounts other stories had anticipated.

Other sources have, however, poured cold water on stories regarding Fellows. Responding to the different reports about bids from Everton, Express & Star journalist Lewis Cox has claimed that the current reports suggesting offers from David Moyes’ side are “not accurate”.

West Brom are not believed to be interested in selling Fellows ahead of a potentially tense battle for a Championship play-off place, but it remains to be seen whether Everton return with a second offer – if a bid was indeed made in the first place.

Interest in Fellows grows as Baggies battle to hold on

Fellows, who has scored seven goals in 75 games for the Baggies since breaking into the first team last season, is drawing increasing interest from the Premier League, with Delaney suggesting that both Brentford and Southampton are admirers and could make a move in the summer.

There is no immediate suggestion that any sides other than Everton are likely to make a move on deadline day, and West Brom will be keen not to lose another star player following reports that first-choice goalkeeper Alex Palmer is set to leave the Hawthorns before the window closes at 11pm on Monday.

Palmer is currently at Portman Road completing a medical ahead of a move to Ipswich Town which could see the Tractor Boys pay up to £5m for West Brom’s starting stopper, a move which would leave Tony Mowbray’s team scrambling for a replacement with just hours left to sign new players.

West Brom are currently in sixth place in the Championship table, and face a difficult battle to hang on to a place in the top six after registering just one win in their last six matches in all competitions. A surprise 2-1 defeat to struggling Plymouth Argyle on Saturday means that the Baggies are now maintaining a play-off place by goal difference alone.

New arrival imminent as Baggies endure busy deadline day

Despite concerns over the potential departures of Palmer and Fellows, as well as supposed interest from Derby County and Burnley in forward Karlan Grant, West Brom are also expected to make at least one deadline day signing of their own.

The Baggies are close to sealing a deal for talented Danish forward Tammer Bany, who can play across the front three or as a number nine. The deal with Randers is expected to be worth up to £3.3m including add-ons. The 21-year-old is currently at the Hawthorns completing a medical.
