West Brom are “close” to sealing a deadline day deal for young Danish striker Tammer Bany in a move reportedly worth up to €4m (£3.3m), according to new reports.
The 21-year-old forward is already undergoing a medical at the Hawthorns ahead of the proposed move, according to Danish journalist Farzam Abolhosseini, who has reported the impending transfer on social media. The youngster had previously been linked with a move to Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic, but it looks as though he has decided to make the move to the Championship instead.

Hide AdBany, who currently plays for Danish Superliga side Randers, would become West Brom’s third signing of the winter transfer window following the arrivals of Isaac Price and Will Lankshear, who was signed on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Friday.
Who is Tammer Bany?
The versatile young forward, who can play either as a central striker or a number ten and has occasionally featured on both wings as well, signed for Randers from fellow Danish side B.93 for a fee of around £110,000 last February and has quickly established himself as a regular member of the Randers first-team squad.
He has scored two goals and provided four assists in 15 Superliga appearances this season, which includes seven starts. One goal and three assists have come in his last five league matches, and his form attracted attention from Britain, with Celtic believed to be keen to sign Bany to replace Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi, who left for French outfit Rennes this month.
Bany, who is right footed and approximately 5’9” tall, has yet to be capped at any level by the Danish national side.

Hide AdBany blow for Celtic as West Brom brace for Palmer departure
Bany’s decision to sign for West Brom may come as a blow to Celtic, who had been linked with a bid of their own for the Dane as they look to recover from the loss of Furuhashi, who scored 63 SPL goals for the Bhoys before moving to Rennes for a reported fee of £10m.
Former Celtic boss Tony Mowbray, who is now in charge of West Brom, will hope that Bany can make an immediate impact as the Baggies look to bounce back to the Premier League. They are currently in sixth place in the Championship table despite a surprise 2-1 defeat away to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon.
The news of Bany’s impending arrival may be a balm for Baggies fans concerned by reports that first-choice goalkeeper Alex Palmer is currently at Portman Road to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed transfer to Premier League side Ipswich Town. A transfer fee of up to £5m has been reported, but it leaves Mowbray without an established number one ahead of what is likely to be a tense run-in.
West Brom are expected to recall 23-year-old goalkeeper Josh Griffiths from his loan spell at Bristol Rovers in order to compete with current back-up Joe Wildsmith for the goalkeeper’s jersey, but may look to sign a replacement prior to the end of the deadline at 11pm on Monday.
