One of the leading strikers in La Liga could be at the heart of a Premier League bidding war this summer.

Aston Villa and two of their Premier League rivals will participate in a 'bidding' war to land Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to a report.

Spanish outlet Diario AS is reporting that Villa along with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are the three main suitors of En-Nesyri. The La Liga club have set an asking price at around £30m but that could be exceeded if any of the rumoured teams act on their apparent transfer interest.

West Ham might have the best chance of signing En-Nesyri as he previously worked under Julen Lopetegui at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. The forward scored 24 times in the 2020/21 season under the former Wolves boss, earning them a fourth placed finish.

The 27-year-old has already rejected West Ham twice but it could be a case of third time lucky now Lopetegui is in the London Stadium hot seat. Villa and Spurs can offer En-Nesyri European football next season, however, after qualifying for the Champions League and the Europa League.

En-Nesyri is a 71-time Moroccoan international and has been at Sevilla since January 2020. He has just come off the back of a campaign that saw him score 20 goals in 41 games across four competitions.

Aston Villa's interest in En-Nesyri has been reported for over a year. A bid of £25m was rejected by Sevilla from West Ham in January 2023 and Sevilla might have to accept a bid of around that benchmark as En-Nesyri's contract runs out in the summer of 2025.
