At just 22-years-old he brings with him a huge pedigree which includes over 100 appearances in France’s top flight as well as vast European experience at Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League level.

It’s a real statement signing for the claret and blue which has become quite a common theme since the arrival of the former Liverpool captain at the helm and Kamara has highlighted the scouser as a big reason behind his move.

“I am very pleased to be an Aston Villa player,” the Frenchman told the club’s wesite.

“I thought a lot about it and think this is the correct decision for my career, I am excited to begin wearing the jersey of Aston Villa.

“The coach was very important to me, he came to see me in Marseille, we discussed a lot of things and spoke about the move and there was a great feeling.

“He played a huge part in my decision to sign here. I hope I can return all the confidence he put in me.”

“I think the Premier League is the best league in the world,” he added.

“I look forward to experiencing this league and I hope we will have a season full of passion.”

Kamara’s description of his profile will only excite Villa fans too with the 22-year-old claiming he will ‘do anything for the team.’

He also underlined fellow countrymen Morgan Sanson and Lucas Digne as another factor in his ultimate decision.

“My style I would say that I am a soldier of the team,” he explained.

“This means no matter how the coach wants to use me in the middle or in the defence I give 100%, I do anything for the team.

“I communicated a lot with Morgan and Lucas. I asked how things are here, how is the city, the training, the coach. They said the same things, that it is great so that also helped in my decision.

“I can’t wait to start pre-season. I will now take a small vacation for a little reset. It’s been a long season and he fatigue can be felt but I will be ready for the pre-season.”
