Music legend Bruce Springsteen has announced he will be returning to the UK to tour with The E Street band for the first time in seven years.

Amongst the dates is one due to take place right here in Birmingham.

When will Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band play in Birmingham?

The band have announced they will perform at Villa Park, Birmingham on Friday, 16 June 2023.

This is part of a four date UK tour.

The Villa Park show is the second of the four 2023 UK dates announced by the band, with the tour kicking off in Edinburgh in May.

Below is the full list of 2023 UK tour dates Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are due to play.

A Ticketmaster presale opens up at 9am on Tuesday, 19 July.

Tickets for all four of Bruce Springsteen’s 2023 UK dates will go on sale at 9am on Thursday, 21 July 2022.

When did Bruce Springsteen last play in Birmingham?

It has been a long time since Springsteen last brought his extensive discography to Birmingham.

In fact, not since 9 November 2006 has he played a gig in Birmingham. On this occasion, he played at the national Exhibition Centre as part of the Bruce Springsteen with the Seeger Sessions Band Tour.

The closest he has come to Birmingham since then was when he performed at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry back in 2016.

Who is Bruce Springsteen?

Bruce Springsteen has released 20 studio albums in his career spanning over six decades and has become one of the world’s best-selling music artists.

He’s been awarded 20 Grammys, two Golden Globes, an Academy Award, and a Special Tony Award, in addition to being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

His live tours have consistently been placed amongst the highest grossing of each of the last five decades. Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band’s last tour, ‘The River Tour’, was 2016’s highest grossing tour worldwide.

In May 2021, he became the eighth recipient of the Woody Guthrie Prize, a prize that honours an artist who speaks out for social justice and carries on the spirit of the folk singer.
