Latest Wolves transfer news as a new target emerges after another heads to the Champions League.

Negotiations are ‘well advanced’ and a contract will be signed in the next week. Atleti were willing to pay the €15m and the player is said to be excited by the prospect of playing in one of the best leagues in the world.

A release clause of £38m was initially suggested for Gomes in January but then in March, reports claimed it would only take between £10-13m to sign him. Wolves by the admission of their manager Gary O’Neil will not be making any big money transfers this summer unless a player is sold.

Wolves are missing out on a player that operated as a wing-back this season. He was on loan to Estoril Paia and made 36 appearances in all competitions with nine goals and eight assists.

Gomes made 51 appearances for Braga after breaking into the first-team in 2020 and lifted the Portuguese Cup back in 2021. He was limited to just two goals and two assists and it is his form at Estoril which has earned him a move to Spain.

Wolves might continue to shop in Portugal however as Famalicao's Francisco Moura is apparently on their radar. Another Portuguese outlet A BOLA reports that Moura has interest from clubs in both England and Spain and is valued at around €10m.

Moura plays on the opposite side of defence to Gomes but the latter could play on either side though right-back was Gomes' primary position. He has only been with Famalicao for a season and registered five assists and two goals in all competitions after joining from Braga and would have been a teammate of Gomes at one stage of his career.

He is 24-years-old and is under contract at Famalicao until the summer of 2027. He is predominantly a left-back but can play on the left-side of midfield and as a winger. Moura has been capped 10 times for Portugal under-20s team and made a total of 19 appearances from under-18 to under-20 level.
