Links with players from Serie A, La Liga and Premier League rivals have been widely reported across the media in recent weeks and an intriguing few months lie in wait.

Wolves’ season may have been more modest in comparison and a lower half finish may well seem somewhat negative - but the concerns that enveloped Molineux at the start of the campaign were swept aside as Gary O’Neil’s side showed signs of progress as the season wore on.
