Wolves ‘pushing hard’ to sign wantaway Premier League striker as Gary O'Neil gets Monaco 'hurry-up'
Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly upping the ante in an attempt to sign a wantaway Chelsea striker this summer.
The Old Gold were denied the acquisition of Armando Broja in January as the striker opted to join Fulham instead, but a belated transfer could finally be sealed after a failed spell at Craven Cottage.

Broja, born in Slough but a full Albanian international with 19 caps and four goals, is keen to move on from Chelsea. The 22-year-old wants more game time to build on his successful loan at Southampton during the 2021/22 season – a period in which he netted six goals in 32 games.
The Standard reports Wolves are “pushing hard” to sign Broja in the upcoming transfer window, while Chelsea are now willing to let their man go on a permanent transfer. Champions League clubs AS Monaco and Bologna are also keen, so Gary O’Neil must use the interest of those clubs as a hurry-up call.
Wolves need Broja deal done quickly
Wanderers are in desperate need of a new striker as the squad was laid bare during the second half of the season just gone. O’Neil had to utilise Nathan Fraser and Tawanda Chirewa in advanced positions as there were no fit senior attackers, while Mario Lemina was often used as an auxiliary winger.

No transfer funds were available in January, meaning Wolves only had two routes to a new attacker – a loan or a delve into the free agents market. Options were very limited and priority target Broja rejected a Molineux switch in favour of the convenient Fulham, just a stone’s throw from Chelsea.
With Albania in action at the upcoming UEFA European Championships in Germany, it would be beneficial to all parties for a transfer to be completed sharpish. Broja, who has scored eight goals in 66 Premier League matches to date, can escape his Chelsea nightmare. Wolves, meanwhile, can sort their striker woes.
