West Brom are eyeing promotion to the Premier League from the Championship

West Brom are sat in 6th place in the Championship table as they look to get promoted to the Premier League. They are inside the play-offs along with Burnley, Sunderland and Coventry City.

The Baggies are only above Bristol City in 7th on goal difference. They have eight fixtures left to get through this season.

Tony Mowbray was appointed as their manager earlier this winter. He was brought in after Carlos Corberan left for Valencia in La Liga.

West Brom latest as Baggies eye promotion to the Premier League

West Brom drew 1-1 at home to Hull City last time out. Isaac Price was on the scoresheet for the Baggies against the Tigers.

However, the visitors fought back to equalise shortly after through Abu Kamara. Kamara then had a chance to win the game for Ruben Selles’ side but saw his effort saved by Joe Wildsmith.

The Midlands outfit are back in action after the international break with an away trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City. Speaking after the point against Hull, Mowbray said: “There were spells where we were good, and things we still need to get better at. The percentage of shots on target that we have has not been enough since the day I arrived.

“We’re lucky if we get 20 per cent of our shots on target, but it’s a pretty common thing that we need to keep working hard on in the final third. Picking the right pass, making the right run and more end product in and around the opposition box.

“We’re left a bit flat and disappointed, obviously, and dropping two points at home is not what we needed. Three points today would’ve made the Burnley point seem like a really good one, but two points from two games isn’t enough.

“It keeps us in the top six but we need to start trying to create a bit of a gap, but we’re disappointed with just the one point from the game. It can be difficult during these three-game weeks because you need to get your shape organised, and we’ve had to make changes in the team through personnel because of suspension and injury. We’re confident we can get into the top six. We’ve got to keep going, keep grinding out results and finding a way.”
