'Naivety at its best. Over committed for no reason' - All say same thing as West Bromwich Albion suffer dramatic defeat to Leicester

West Brom fans on social media have been reacting to the Baggies’ 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Championship leaders Leicester. And many are saying the same thing after a dramatic end to events at The Hawthorns.

Josh Maja looked to have earned Carlos Corberan’s side a share of the spoils when he cancelled out Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s 72nd-minute opener with his first goal for the club on the stroke of full-time. But as the hosts pushed for a winner, they got caught on the break and Harry Winks slid the ball home four minutes into stoppage-time.

It meant the Baggies, who remain fifth in the table heading into today’s 3pm kick-offs, earned nothing from the game as they lost just their second home match of the season. And it was that needless sacrifice of an important point which irked fans on X, formerly Twitter, following the final whistle. Here’s a selection of the views shared

@J_Phillips1994: Don’t know why we’ve thrown the kitchen sink to get 3 points having only just equalised. Carlos, we love you, but can’t help but think the crowd may have altered his decision as what should’ve been a formality to just see the game out.

@LukeCoxFootball: Oh, Albion, such a bloody shame. We were good value for a draw there.  We played so unbelievably well, which is an achievement when you consider the opposition, and injuries we have. Still in the playoffs, on to Sunderland next weekend. Boing Boing.

@Rees_wba: Happy with the performance against the top of the league but still livid that we over committed for no reason.

@dan7heman: Lost it trying to win it. We go again.

@SmartynPants: Sorry Carlos, you’ll always be king, but that’s on you. Pushing for a winner in such fashion against that team is ridiculous. Take the point and carry the momentum onto Sunderland.

@wba_clark22: Unlucky today. Should've drew or won, shouldn't have put everyone up at the last minute though, that was poor.

@GavennyBaggie: Naivety at its best for their late winner.
