A round-up of all the main Championship transfer headlines

Highly-rated Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara has completed a transfer to join Turkish giants Galatasaray for a fee believed to be in the region of £15.3m.

The Brazilian star enjoyed a successful two-year-stint in East Anglia, which saw him earn a reputation for being one of the most talented midfielders in the division. Sara registered 20 goals and 16 assists in 88 league games for the Canaries and was a member of the Championship Team of the Season last term after a string of impressive performances.

BBC Radio Norfolk understands that Norwich can expect to earn a guaranteed £20m for Sara, with a potential extra £2.5m based on performance bonuses, along with a potential sell-on clause when the player decides to next move clubs.

Sara was a catalyst for Norwich’s sixth place finish last term and manager Johannes Hoff Troup will now be desperate to find a replacement in the middle of the park to boost his side’s hopes of winning promotion back into the Premier League.

Former West Brom star set to join Atletico Madrid

Former West Brom loanee Conor Gallagher is expected to complete a £33m move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, which would end his 18-year association with Chelsea. The 18-time England international signed his first professional contract with the Blues in 2019 before earning experience in loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Swansea City in the Championship.

Gallagher got his first taste of regular top-flight football when he joined Slaven Bilic’s West Brom in 2020 and he was one of the team’s best performers that year despite the club’s relegation to the second-tier.

After another impressive loan spell at Crystal Palace, Gallagher became a stalwart in the Chelsea team under the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Frank Lampard and Mauricio Pochettino, but has consistently been linked with a move away to alleviate the club’s FFP concerns.

Gallagher made 37 league appearances last term and captained the team for large stages during a sixth place finish, but was not thought to be a part of new boss Enzo Maresca’s plans after his arrival in June.

Leeds United target Liverpool prodigy

Championship promotion-hopefuls Leeds United have registered their interest in signing Liverpool prodigy Bobby Clark on a season-long loan deal, according to Football Insider.

Daniel Farke’s side are the latest to express an interest in the 19-year-old, who is also admired by South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United and fellow promotion contenders Norwich City.

Clark has represented England at U20 level and is regarded as a future star by many of Liverpool’s youth team coaches. He has made six league appearances for the Reds and was also trusted to appear as a substitute during the team’s Carabao Cup triumph over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

The teenage sensation, who is the son of former Newcastle footballer Lee Clark, is under contract at Liverpool until 2028, and the club have no intention of letting him go on a permanent basis.
