West Brom have been joined by a new competitor in the race for the forward that left Stoke City this summer.

Swansea City manager Luke Williams admits he is admirer of reported West Brom transfer target Tyrese Campbell.

Campbell is a free agent after leaving Stoke City in the summer, and has interest from the Championship and the Scottish Premiership. The Baggies along with five other teams were linked with a move in mid-July, and now Swansea, who have joined the race, have commented on the player.

"I know the player, most Championship coaches are going to be a big fan of the player," said Williams to BBC Sport Wales.

"But he also has some very delicate circumstances at the moment that we need to be respectful of, so I think it’s best not to talk about that too much at the moment".

The other clubs reportedly interested are Sheffield United, QPR, Preston North End, Rangers and Cardiff City, but some have already signed forwards in that time. Sheffield United signed Kieffer Moore a few days before being linked with Campbell, and Cardiff have recruited Wilfried Kanga, but injuries to Isaak Davies and Kion Etete, could mean they re-enter the market for a striker.

As for West Brom, they have seen their top scorer from the last two seasons depart with Brandon Thomas-Asante sold to Coventry City. To react to that, Devante Cole has joined on a two-year deal after leaving Barnsley.
