Important EFL decision impacts West Brom, Birmingham City, Millwall, QPR and Blackburn Rovers

The Sky Bet Championship season may have only come to an end merely a few days ago but key dates have already been announced ahead of the next campaign.

West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and the rest of the division have been told the new calendar.

Five important dates have been outlined by the English Football League (EFL), including the start of the 2023/24 season and the fixture release day.

Starting with the Carabao Cup, round one will begin the week commencing Monday, August 7, 2023, whereas the final will take place on Sunday, February 24, 2024.

For the Championship, every team’s 46 fixtures will be revealed at 9am on Thursday, June 22, 2023. The opening day of the season will be Saturday, August 5, 2023.

The Championship Play-Off Final, which Birmingham fans may dream of after the Tom Wagner takeover, will take place on Sunday, May 26.

Dates for the Emirates FA Cup are yet to be revealed but they will be confirmed in due course.
