An agreement is not close at this stage however, and the Whites want upwards of £5m to part ways with him. Witcoop was asked whether Birmingham would get it done, and he responded: "Didn't want to drop to L1 but money talks.
In additional reports on Birmingham's interest in Stansfield, Football Insider reported that Birmingham had opened talks and are prepared to offer a package worth up to £6m to get a deal done. They added that Stansfield is also keen to return to St Andrew's. Alan Nixon, a journalist for The Sun said that a bid had been submitted for Stansfield.
A series of Championship clubs have reportedly made approaches to Fulham about signing him on loan this summer. Sunderland had a strong interest in January, but he stayed put at St Andrew's for the entirety of his loan. Alfonso Leocadio, a football journalist with just under 40,000 followers on X, said that Leeds United are 'long term admirers' whilst Hull City also hold an interest.

Stansfield was expected to get a chance to break in to the first team at Craven Cottage this summer. In the middle of May, Marco Silva said that everything other than Birmingham's relegation from the Championship is what Fulham wanted from the loan. He said that the moment would be for him to come back and force his way in to his plans next season.
