Birmingham City set for another bumper crowd as tickets selling fast for Peterborough United clash

According to social media, tickets are selling out well for Birmingham City’s next home match, and you’d ought to be quick if you want to attend.

Birmingham City are on course to sell out another one of their home matches, with tickets selling out well for the visit of Peterborough United.

Blues take on the Posh in their next match on Saturday, September 28 at 3.00 pm, as they hope to preserve their unbeaten start to the League One campaign. Birmingham are second, and are just waiting for a slip up from Wrexham so they can overtake them and take their place at the top of the table.

Twitter user MH (@91xMH) has been analysing the current seat map available to supporters on Birmingham City’s online ticketing platform, and as of 9.35 am on Tuesday, less than 100 tickets are left. Four areas of the ground are sold out, and right now there's only tickets in the Gil Merrick Upper and the Kop, though he did suggest more tickets may be become available in the GMU, but the club will have to confirm that.

As for what kind of following Peterborough will bring, tickets went on sale for them on September 16, and they revealed that they had been given an initial allocation of 1,500 tickets, though that could rise to 2,227. Posh fans will be based in the Gil Merrick Lower and tickets for them began at £12.50 for an under-16, with it costing £27.50 for an adult.

Phil Adlam, the press officer for Peterborough, said that an update would be provided today on Tuesday (September 24) on how many tickets had been sold. They play away at Leyton Orient tonight, and as of Monday morning, had sold 512 tickets.

Birmingham City's last home match against Wrexham saw 27,980 in attendance, which had a sold out away end. The highest attended match at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park this season is the 27,985 who attended against Reading, which is five more than the ‘Hollywood Derby’. Though big names such as David Beckham, Tom Brady, and Rob McElhenney were in attendance.
