David Beckham breaks silence on Birmingham City visit and comments on St Andrew's atmosphere

The iconic former England international joined Tom Brady in the stands on Monday night, watching on with his good friend who has a minority stake in Blues.
Beckham’s appearance sent shockwaves around Birmingham as fans couldn’t quite believe he’d made the trip to watch a League One fixture. The visit was definitely worth it for the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder as he enjoyed every moment.

Hide AdSpeaking to CBS Sports Golazo about the game, Beckham said: “It was great last night. Do you know what, the atmosphere was amazing. You don’t really get and I’ve not really seen an atmosphere like that in a long time where the Birmingham fans and Wrexham fans were incredible.”
With 27,980 spectators packed into St Andrew’s, there was hardly a quiet moment. It was bedlam in the away end when Jack Marriott took an early lead for Wrexham and then absolute chaos for all three of Blues’ goals, two of which were scored by Jay Stansfield and the other a cracker from Tomoki Iwata.

Not only did Beckham drink in the noise himself, but he also had some amusing explaining to do for Brady, who didn’t quite understand some of the chants.
“Tom was sat next to me and he was like, ‘the atmosphere is amazing but what are they singing?’, and I was like, ‘you want to know exactly what they’re singing about your team and what your team are singing about Wrexham?’, so I told him and he found it very funny.”
Kate Scott, host of CBS Sports Golazo, asked Beckham if he could repeat what the chants were and he said “not on this show”.
