Birmingham City manager John Eustace has labelled Krystian Bielik “one of the best midfielders in the Championship”.

The 24-year old arrived in the summer on loan from relegated Derby County, but has yet to feature this season due to injury. Birmingham are hopeful that the Polish international will return to action soon, as the club sit 18th in the Championship after Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Wigan.

Eustace said: “He’s doing really, really well. He’s had a full week in training now so hopefully we can get him back involved at some point in the next week or two. He’s been itching to get back out there so it’s been a massive plus for us. You can see his quality on the training field already. I think a fit Krystian is certainly one of the best midfielders in the Championship, and that’s what we’re waiting to see.”

Birmingham travel to Rotherham United on Saturday (August 27), with the Millers unbeaten in the Championship so far this season and sitting 13th in the table.
