Birmingham City could be without Marc Roberts and Jordan Graham again for the game at Rotherham United with John Eustace confirming that both are ‘touch and go’ following their recovery from injury.

The two missed last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic with their respective problems and both will be assessed on Saturday morning to see whether or not they are able to make the trip to the New York Stadium.

“They are doing OK,” Eustace said when asked for an update on their status.

“Touch and go really for the weekend I think on both of them but we’ll wait and see.”

Striker Lukas Jutkiewicz will also miss the clash in South Yorkshire after he was given a two-game ban for ‘deliberately deceiving an official’ in the Latics defeat.

Elsewhere and Gary Gardner could be in line to make his first appearance of the season for the Blues with the manager confirming that he’s ‘in contention.’

Gardner played for the under-21s midweek and Eustace says it was great to see him back out on the pitch.

“Brilliant, what a fantastic player Gaz is,” he said.

“Unfortunately he hasn’t had any pre-season under his belt so this is only his second week back.

“He’ll certainly be in contention to be in the squad for Saturday - might be a little bit early for him possibly but we’ll have to wait and see.

“The most positive thing for him is he’s back and he’s helping the younger boys in the squad. A top player.”
