Team news

With this being the penultimate clash of Villa’s pre-season tour, Steven Gerrard will likely field an eleven similar to that that will start on match day one versus Bournemouth.

Tyrone Mings will likely partner Diego Carlos at the back and we may see who Gerrard is currently favouring as his number one striker between Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings and Cameron Archer.

Both Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez won’t be linking up with United until they return to the UK and Cristiano Ronaldo remains absent as he looks for a move away.

Head-to-head record

Villa faced Man United three times across the course of the 21/22 campaign with each side landing a win and the other ending in a draw.

It may be pre-season but this will be the first time the claret and blue face the Red Devils under new manager Erik ten Hag and it will provide a good preview as to what to expect for the competitive fixtures ahead.
