Aston Villa’s incredible support during their pre-season tour of Australia hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Whether they were in the Gold Coast, Brisbane or latterly Townsville - the claret & blue contingent has been huge and it has posed as a reminder of just how big the football club really is.

It’s a rare experience, if not a once in a lifetime one, for the fans down under and the Villa players and staff have been making sure all that are taking their time out to see them get the time of day.

From signing memorabilia to having photos with those waiting outside the training complex - it’s been a real positive experience.

But they may well have just saved the best until near the end.

VillaTV have released a video of Steven Gerrard surprising a young Aussie Villa supporter called Aston at school and it’s one that makes you smile from ear-to-ear throughout.

In the 4:16 footage, you see Gerrard sneaking into Aston’s classroom to give the lad a big hug and invite him to the Villa training complex to watch the team put through their paces.

Aston explains how it’s a dream of his to go to England to watch the claret and blue at Villa Park, to which Gerrard duly obliges and invites him and his family over for a game in the 2022/23 season.

He was also given mascot duties for Villa’s pre-season clash with Brisbane Roar earlier this week at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

You can watch the full video above - and trust us - it’s well worth the watch!
