Aston Villa get their pre-season tour of Australia underway when they take on Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United this weekend.
Villa’s pre-season tour Down Under will see them face fellow Premier League sides Leeds and Manchester United, as well as Brisbane Roar in the coming days. Steven Gerrard’s men beat Walsall 4-0 in their first pre-season friendly last week, and the Villa boss will be eager for his side to maintain their form as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Hide AdNew signing Diego Carlos made his Villa debut during the clash with Walsall at the Poundland Bescot Stadium. The Brazilian will feature for Villa during their Australian tour, and Gerrard is also expected to give the club’s other new signing Boubacar Kamara his debut.

Leeds will be without left-back Junior Firpo who will be out for eight weeks, although Patrick Bamford could start for Marsch’s side after he came off this substitutes bench during their 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar on Thursday (14 July).

Villa beat Leeds 3-0 at Elland Road last season after a dominant performance which saw goals from Philippe Coutinho, Matty Cash and Calum Chambers. The score was 3-3 in the reverse fixture at Villa Park.
