"I think with the way last season finished at Leicester, and just other things as well that I've got to the summer now, and I thought I'd give it a few months to see how much I was missing the game, If I had that eagerness to get back in and find a new club.

“I think I've got so far in, and I've probably realised it, more or less straight away that this was it.

"I didn't really miss it too much and I was enjoying the other side of things, whether that is the media side or just spending a bit more time with the family. The ages my children are at now it felt like the right time to walk away and reflect on my career and be grateful for it.”
