Aston Villa suffered back to back defeats in the Premier League for the first time in nearly 18 months after losing to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Darwin Nunez opened the scoring in the first half and then Mo Salah wrapped things up six minutes from time. As a result of the defeat, Villa have dropped down to ninth, though there's only a point separating them and fourth-placed Arsenal for that well coveted final Champions League spot.

Both clubs have players away on international duty and they will be hoping that they can get through their respective fixtures unscathed. The international break does offer some players nursing any knocks or niggles the chance of a bit of recovery. With the match between Villa and Palace 11 days away, there are still a few players that will be either touch and go or
Matheus Franca is unlikely to appear for the remainder of the year. The 20-year-old hasn't played a competitive match since the start of March. He has picked up a serious abductor injury, which has been a recurring problem.
Eddie Nketiah is dealing with a hamstring injury picked up from the 2-2 draw against Wolves. Glasner in his pre-match press conference prior to the game against Fulham admitted he should have brought Nketiah off earlier from the 2-1 win against Villa in the Carabao Cup.

'He then had a scan and it was more serious than expected.'

Centre-back Chadi Riad is another likely absentee. A knee injury has limited him to just two appearances since joining from Real Betis in the summer for a reported £15million.
England international Adam Wharton is out until the end of the month. He underwent surgery for a groin issue which was aggravated in the EFL Cup game between Villa and Palace. Glasner put a four week time frame on the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder returning.
Talisman Eberechi Eze could also prove to be a big miss. Glasner said it would be 'very ambitious' to have him back after the international break. He has a similar timescale for a return like Wharton.

Crystal Palace also have a suspension to deal with after Daichi Kamada was sent off in the defeat to Fulham. He was given a red card for a lunge on Kenny Tete, and as a result he will miss matches against Villa, Newcastle United, and Ipswich Town. Will Hughes missed the defeat to Fulham because he had accumulated five yellow cards, but will come back in to contention.
