Aston Villa dream starting XI after January transfer window if Unai Emery’s wishes are granted - gallery

Taking a look at what Aston Villa’s starting XI might look like after the January transfer window, if Unai Emery is granted his wish with three signings.

As deadline day for the January transfer window approaches, Aston Villa supporters young and old will be debating what Unai Emery’s starting XI could look like for the return to Premier League action on Saturday, February 4. While two signings have already been completed, there have been countless names linked with a move to B6.

Hundreds of millions have been splashed in the Premier League already, seeing the English top flight blow away other divisions across Europe for money spent. Chelsea, as a noticeable example, have paid a total of €178.5 million for new signings in January. That is more than every side in La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga put together (just over €100 million).

Villa have not gone anywhere near as daring, but a respectable £30 million or so has been dished out so far to bring in Alex Moreno and Jhon Duran. It is expected Emery will be provided with more funds to get the names he wants, with some top-quality players linked. With that in mind, we’ve been thinking about how Villa’s starting XI could look by the end of the window, with some exciting new additions.

Not used during his time in the West Midlands just yet, but Emery has been fond of a 4-3-3 in the past, and we think he will change his system to that if his transfer wishes are granted. See below.
