Unai Emery has done a brilliant job since arriving through the doors at Villa Park in late October, taking Aston Villa from a potential relegation battle right up to within a point of Liverpool and Chelsea. The Lions are now just a win or two away from breaking into the top six and, just like their league position, their squad value is soaring.
Only two signings have been made this month, with European-class left-back Alex Moreno joining from Real Betis, and Jhon Duran arriving from Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire, but more business is likely to be done before the end of the January transfer window.
The Villans’ total market value is still very high even without more new signings, and, having looked at the figures in more detail, we wondered how Villa’s squad value compares to other clubs in the Premier League. With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest figures from Transfermarkt, as well as a comparison to the start of the current season.
