Rogers is already tied down at Villa Park until June 2029 but the club want to extend the attacker’s deal further while rewarding him with improved terms.
Signed from Middlesbrough on February 1 for £8 million plus £7 million in add-ons, Rogers has progressed swiftly under Unai Emery. The 22-year-old adapted to the Premier League quicker than Villa’s head coach could’ve hoped and he’s hardly been out of the starting lineup since his arrival.

Hide AdRogers, who has scored six goals and made four assists in 31 Villa appearances to date, has been handed his first senior England call-up this week. The West Bromwich Albion academy graduate could become a key player for his national team if he continues his current trajectory.

It’s quite something for Rogers to have already secured Villa’s shadow striker spot given the likes of Jhon Duran, Leon Bailey and Emiliano Buendia are all more than capable of playing that role. Duran must be particularly frustrated by his lack of starts but there’s simply no knocking Rogers or Ollie Watkins out of the first XI.
Quick, strong and brilliant at keeping balance on the half-turn, Rogers is an absolute nightmare for defenders when he’s running at full pelt. The scary thing is he’s still nowhere near as good as he could be as his finishing and passing need polishing.
There have been so many chances this season that Rogers has squandered by either being too rash shooting or taking too long to find his final pass. When it clicks, the former Manchester City and Middlesbrough man could be virtually unstoppable. His current transfer value is €22 million (£18 million), as per Transfermarkt.
