How the Championship table looks like after game week 15 if it was based on average away attendances.

West Brom supporters had reasons to celebrate at the weekend after watching their side beat Hull City on Sunday.

For the 1,384 in attendance in the away end at the MKM Stadium on Sunday, they witnessed a first win in eight games when a quick-fire double from Karlan Grant and Josh Maja defeated the Tigers.

The result put the Baggies in the fifth, and there is just six points separating them and the two automatic promotion places. A series of teams are just behind WBA with Middlesbrough and Millwall capable of overtaking them with a win after the international break.

With the season on pause now for a new two week break, it gives us the opportunity to look at things. We’re 15 games in to the season now, a little way over the quarter of the way through, and once the internationals over, a busy period begins, with the festive period on the horizon, and that’s one of the busiest times of the year.

From the latest figures provided by Football Fan Banter, and The 72, which we have since collated ourselves, we’ve tallied up every away following of each club this season, and worked out their averages. West Brom are outside of the top six, and have an average of 1,953 supporters at their away matches.  The most they’ve had at any game this season was the estimated 3,100 that travelled up to Sheffield to watch a lunch time defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Below is the Championship table in full with Swansea City, Millwall, and Watford all relegated if the league was determined by their level of away support. At the opposite end of the table, Leeds United and Derby County would go up, and Sheffield United aren’t too far behind.
