Aston Villa latest

Aston Villa have had to juggle playing in Europe with domestic football in this campaign. The extra workload has proved to be tough to manage at times and has tested their resources.

They delved into the January transfer window this winter to bring in some new faces. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio and Donyell Malen completed moves to Villa Park to boost their attacking department, among others. Villa also cut ties with striker Jhon Duran last month. He was lured away by Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia for a new challenge in the Middle East.

Speaking after their draw with Liverpool, Emery said: “I’m happy with the match we played and how we performed. We’re in a new era, a new way. We’re not happy drawing at home, of course, we did against Ipswich Town on Saturday and again we repeated with a draw.

“I think the result was fair, because I think both teams were creating chances and sometimes dominating one team and then another team. More or less, over 90 minutes, I think the result is fair.
