Aston Villa vs Liverpool team news: Emery and Slot name lineups in Premier League
The confirmed lineups for Aston Villa vs Liverpool in the Premier League.
Kick-off is fast approaching for tonight’s highly-anticipated English top-tier clash between Aston Villa and Liverpool at Villa Park.
Unai Emery and Arne Slot have named their starting lineups and substitutes for the game, with both teams looking strong as they seek to improve their Champions League and title prospects respectively.
Villa head into this evening’s encounter without a win in their last four Premier League matches, desperate to turn the tide. Currently down in ninth place and six points outside the top four, the Villans could see their chances of qualifying for Europe’s elite competition slip from their grasp unless they improve results soon.
The visitors, meanwhile, will be eager to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings. The Reds are seven points clear of closest chasers Arsenal and have the opportunity to move 10 ahead with a win under the lights.
Emery has opted for three changes from the starting XI that drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town at the weekend, with Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio and Tyrone Mings coming in for Donyell Malen, Jacob Ramsey and Boubacar Kamara. Rashford will be desperate to make a statement against his Manchester United’s bitter rivals.
Slot, meanwhile, has swapped out just one of his starters from Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers as Curtis Jones come in for Luis Diaz.
