Aston Villa and Wolves continue to battle it out in the Premier League

Aston Villa won 2-1 away at Leicester City this weekend after goals by Amadou Onana and Jhon Duran. They have six points on the board from their first three league fixtures.

As per the above data, Aston Villa had a net spend of £28.7m. They signed the likes of Onana, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Dobbin, Samuel Iling-Junior, Ross Barkley and Enzo Barranechea to bolster their ranks, whilst Jaden Philogene returned to Villa Park.

In terms of outgoings, they cut ties with Moussa Diaby, Douglas Luiz, Tim Iroegbunam and Alex Moreno, among others. These exits helped free up space and funds in their squad.

Wolves, on the other hand, had a net spend of - £32.5m with only Liverpool and Manchester City better off. They snapped up the likes of Andre, Rodrigo Gomes and Sam Johnstone and saw Pedro Neto and Max Kilman depart.
