After a fruitful summer transfer window, Aston Villa returned to Premier League action and secured a 2-1 win over Leicester City during their visit to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
New signing Amadou Onana, who joined the Villans in July for £50 million, opened up his account with a goal just before the half an hour mark. Jhon Durán came on in the second half to replace Ollie Watkins and made an immediate impact, scoring just minutes after taking to the pitch.

Hide AdLeicester hit back with a goal from their own substitution Facundo Buonanotte shortly after Duran, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal as Villa dug in their heels and saw out the the result. The win sees them bounce back from their previous 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at Villa Park, and puts them sixth in the table ahead of the remaining fixtures.

Aston Villa will return to action on September 14th when they host Everton at home. The Toffees were dealt a massive blow at Goodison Park after Bournemouth produced a stunning three-goal comeback to win from 2-0 down. The defeat means Everton are still searching for their first win of the new season, and they have shipped ten goals in three fixtures.
