The elephant in the room for Aston Villa is the fact they still have to play Burnley twice.
The Lancashire club went into last weekend’s fixtures in the bottom three but, having beaten Wolves 1-0, are now just six points behind Aston Villa, albeit having played a game more.

Villa stopped the rot with a hard-fought goalless draw at Leicester City and, with six matches remaining, surely need just one more win to ensure survival.
Villa currently sit eight points above third-bottom Everton and also in the mix are Leeds United, who are three points behind Villa having played a game more.
So, where does that leave Villa? They have a golden chance to put the situation to bed with a home win against doomed Norwich City on Saturday.

However, defeat to Canaries and then a couple of losses to Burnley will really put the cat among the pigeons for Steven Gerrard’s men.
