The West Midlands boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars and musicians to world class football players.
Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingham. Now, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew up in nearby Wolverhampton.
Many famous people grew up in the city which has plenty to offer. It’s steeped in history and has its prestigious football club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, of course. ‘Wulfrunians’ are extremely proud of their city.
And many actors, sportspeople and legendary musicians all come from the area. With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the most famous people who are from Wolverhampton - let’s take a look:

9. Nigel Slater
The well known food critic has written a column for The Observer Magazine for over a decade and is the principal writer for the Observer Food Monthly supplement. 10. Meera Syal
Meera Syal, the comedian, actress and writer rose to prominence as one of the team that created Goodness Gracious Me and portraying Sanjeev’s grandmother, Ummi, in The Kumars at No. 42. 11. Frances Barber
Born in Wolverhampton, Frances has starred alongside Gary Oldman in Prick Up Your Ears and starred in film such as We Think the World of You, Dead Fish, as well as Sammy and Rosie Get Laid as well as tv series’ such as Doctor Who and Silk

12. Antonio Aakeel
