The West Midlands boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars and musicians to world class football players
Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingham. Now, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew up in nearby West Bromwich.
Many famous celebs were born in West Bromwich and grew up in and around the Black Country town. West Brom is, of course known, for its prestigious football club West Bromwich Albion, but there are also a number of high profile actors, comedians, footballers and rock stars who call West Brom their home.
With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the most famous celebs who born in the Sandwell town.

1. Frank Skinner
West Bromwich-born comedian Frank Skinner made a name for himself on television and the comedy circuit. A life-long Baggies fan, Skinner’s work includes the Fantasy Football League show, The Frank Skinner Show, and the Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned programme. 2. Robert Plant
Arguably Sandwell’s most famous celebrity, Led Zeppelin icon Robert Plant was born and bred in West Bromwich. Before he rose to stardom in the 1970s with Jimmy Page and co, Plant attended school in Stourbridge. A huge Wolves fan, the singer is still a regular at Molineux today | Getty Images

3. Cat Deeley
West Bromwich-born television presenter and actress Cat Deeley is best known for hosting So Youth Think You Can Dance. For her work on the show, she has been nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy award. She has also presented Deadbeat and Stars in their eyes. Photo: Gregg DeGuire

4. Denise Lewis
Former Olympic champion and Commonwealth Games England president Denise Lewis was also born in West Brom. She won the gold medal in the heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, was twice Commonwealth Games champion, was the 1998 European Champion and won World Championships silver medals in 1997 and 1999. | Getty Images
