West Midlands town plot set for 200-home affordable scheme
A site has been identified in the West Midlands
A newly-formed affordable housing partnership has identified a site in Solihull for the development of more than 200 homes, marking its third location since launching at the end of 2025.
Habiko is a joint venture between Pension Insurance Corporation, Muse and Homes England. The Solihull scheme follows earlier announcements in Chester and Warrington, taking the total number of homes in the pipeline to around 820.
The partnership will bring forward 228 affordable homes as part of the wider Holbeche Place masterplan, which was approved by Solihull Council earlier this month. Muse has been working with the council since 2023 on the mixed-use town centre redevelopment.
Designed by architect Howells, the Solihull homes will comprise a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments. Habiko has committed to delivering a minimum of 75 per cent affordable homes for rent across its sites, with an overall ambition of up to 100 per cent.
Community conversations on the Solihull proposals are set to begin on 18 February, ahead of a planning submission later in the spring.
Habiko aims to deliver 3,000 affordable and sustainable homes over the next 12 years, representing around £1bn in completed value.
