Decision day looms for idyllic West Midlands villages near Birmingham set to become a town
The six-week consultation period is over
Under plans, Dorridge along with Knowle and Bentley Heath are set be treated as a single town for planning purposes.
Similarly, Balsall Common would also be classified as a town.
BirminghamWorld visited Dorridge in July, where lots of residents expressed annoyance and confusion at plans to change the status of the village into a town for planning purpose.
At the time a six-week consultation was running where residents voiced their opinions about an agreement on the revised definition.
This six-week consultation period has now ended and Solihull Council has now shared an update.

A Solihull Council spokesperson said: “The council is reviewing all comments made under the consultation that recently closed and will report the outcome to a future decision-making meeting of the cabinet member for climate change and planning.
“This will include a recommendation on adopting a settlement hierarchy that may be revised in light of the consultation.”
Dorridge is an affluent village located in Solihull and is often named one of the best places to live in the West Midlands, with good schools, transport links and high average house prices.
