Under new proposals, Knowle, Dorridge, and Bentley Heath would be treated as a single town for planning purposes, while Balsall Common would also be classified as a town.

Following a public six-week consultation during the summer when residents expressed their views on the updated definition, Solihull Council has indicated this will happen.

BirminghamWorld visited Dorridge in July, where lots of residents expressed annoyance and confusion at plans to change the status of the village into a town for planning purposes.

It is anticipated that the future of these villages will be decided during the council meeting next week.
