103 Colmore Row restaurant opening update

With more firms moving in to the glamorous skyscraper plans for its glitzy restaurant are moving forward

It’s one of the most glamorous locations in Birmingham which is set to host an ultra glitzy rooftop restaurant on its 24th floor.

103 Colmore Row is already home to a range of businesses, with national law firm Browne Jacobson among the latest to move in.

The huge skyscraper at the end of Colmore Row, opposite Snow Hill station, features a ground floor cafe, members business club and is set to feature a garden terrace on its 18th floor for yoga classes and more.

The restaurant is being opened with global luxury restaurant and bar group D&D which owns some of the best restaurants in London, Manchester, Leeds, Paris and New York.

The company recently announced that their restaurant in Birmingham would be called Orelle and serve modern French cuisine.

Will 103 Colmore Row follow another restaurant concept?

There is much speculation about whether the restaurant will follow one of concepts that D&D has already launched or whether the new venue will have a completely new theme.

D&D venues are pretty diverse. In London its portfolio includes Bluebird Chelsea, German Gymnasium, Quaglinos, Coq d’Argent and Sartoria. In Manchester it has won much praise for 20 Stories and in Leeds you will find Angelica.

The sky restaurant and bar at 103 Colmore Row will be accompanied by a street level café which will be open all day, before turning into a lively bar in the evenings.

What has D&D said about the new restaurant previously?

Previously the global luxury restaurant and bar group has said that the 103 Colmore Row restaurant will have a double-height space offering diners panoramic views across the city and beyond.

They said the kitchen and back of house will be located on teh 23rd floor.

The company will operate a ground floor cocktail bar and cafe, wtih an outdoor terrace that will form an integral part of the building’s feature winter garden.

The restaurant will also have a self contained entrance, with two dedicated lifts leading directly from the ground floor cocktail bar.

D&D London have advised that the exact opening date, chef and menu will be announced in due course.
