Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingham. Now, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew up in Moseley and Kings Heath.
Many famous people grew up in the areas which have plenty to offer. Moseley village was voted as the best place to live in the UK for city living in 2015, and Kings Heath made the Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2022 list.
Actors, sportspeople and legendary musicians all come from the districts. With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the most famous people who are from Moseley and Kings Heath.
1. Nick Rhodes, Moseley
Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes was born in Moseley. Rhodes left school in 1978 at the age of sixteen, and founded Duran Duran with his childhood friend John Taylor and Taylor’s art school friend Stephen Duffy, and the rest is history.. Photo: Getty Images for The Rock and Ro
2. James Brown, Moseley
The drummer of UB40 Jimmy Brown, like many of his band’s members is also from Birmingham and he grew up in Moseley
3. Brian Travers, Moseley
The late Brian Travers also grew up in Moseley like his UB40 band member Jimmy. Brian lived on Trafalgar Road before he became the saxophonist and co-songwriter for the iconic reggae band.
4. Earl Falconer, Moseley
