Wolves remain in the hunt for a new boss after sacking Bruno Lage last week. They currently have Steve Davis in caretaker charge and he guided the team to an important 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest over the weekend, with Ruben Neves scoring the winner from the penalty spot.

The Midlands outfit have been linked with a few names recently and have a big decision to make on who to appoint. They are 17th in the Premier League table and are a point above the drop zone.

Julien Lopetegui emerged as the frontrunner following his departure from Sevilla but a move to Molinuex ended up not materialising for him in the end. Former Olympiacos boss Pedro Martins’ name also came up early after Lage’s exit but reporter Liam Keen has claimed he is not on the radar.

The Express & Star have reported that Nuno Espirito Santo, who managed Wolves from 2017 to 2021, has held talks but is currently not the first choice candidate, whilst QPR’s Michael Beale is on the shortlist after his impressive first few months in charge in the Championship.

Rob Edwards has reportedly been interviewed for the post following his sacking by Watford last month, as per The Telegraph. The 39-year-old guided Forest Green Rovers to the League Two title last term but lasted just 11 games at Vicarage Road.

Other names like Marcelo Gallardo, Leonardo Jardim, Bo Svensson, Ange Postecoglou and Rúben Amorim appear in the running as outsiders on SkyBet and Wolves will be carefully weighing up their options.

Sean Dyche is another available candidate and The Sun suggest that his close associate Ian Woan has been watching top flight matches to scout out potential openings for him. The 51-year-old left Burnley earlier this year after 10 years at Turf Moor.
