Wolves make 'scout' Serie A winger as Wanderers man offered 'huge numbers' by foreign club
With nine days left in the summer transfer window, time is running thin for clubs in the Premier League - including Wolverhampton Wanderers. Can Gary O’Neil’s men make one more marquee signing before transfer deadline day rolls along?
Wolves are looking to sign a winger who currently plays for Serie A outfit Fiorentina. They have sent scouts to conduct ‘surveys’ on the player, but have yet to put forth an official offer.

Wolves send scouts to monitor Fiorentina’s Jonathan Ikone
Jonathan Ikone is somewhat out of favour at Fiorentina - and according to a recent report from Italian outlet Viola News, Wolves are looking to make a deal to bring the player to the Midlands. They have sent scouts to monitor Ikone’s progress, but an official offer has yet to come in.
Wolves need to sign a new winger, after Pedro Neto left the club to join Chelsea’s ever-expanding army of attacking midfielders. They have identified Ikone as a potential replacement, but they are not the only interested party in the mix - newly promoted Leicester City have also been linked with a move for the four-cap French international.
An asking price has yet to be named by Fiorentina, but it is expected that he could leave the club before the deadline. As such, he could be available for a cut price.

Daniel Podence could leave Wolves on a permanent basis the summer. He has received interest from an unnamed club in Saudi Arabia and has been offered ‘huge numbers’ for him to make the jump to the Middle East.
Wolves are happy to let Podence go, but will require a fee in the region of £7 million to £10 million before they allow him to move on. As things stand, while Podence is understood to have been in communication with his potential suitors, Wolves have not yet accepted an offer for the one time Portuguese international.
This is according to Wolves transfers insider Dave Azzopardi, who said [via Talking Wolves on X]: “Daniel Podence has been offered huge numbers to move to Saudi Arabia. However, no agreement on fee between Wolves and clubs. Podence has been very good at Compton this summer and happy to wait for Wolves to accept an offer they’re satisfied with. Probably be £7M-10m.”
Last season, Podence spent the campaign out on loan at Olympiakos, where he helped the Greek giants win their first ever European trophy in the form of the Europa Conference League.
