Fabrizio Romano confirms Wolves transfer enquiry for Crystal Palace star
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Johnstone has a 'clear preference' in a move away from Selhurst Park and is said to be exploring and assessing his options. The Italian also said that Wolves along with their Premier League rivals Leicester City and Southampton had made a transfer enquiry.

Hide AdThe 31-year-old was recently stripped of the number one shirt with that instead handed to Dean Henderson. Henderson had worn the number 30 shirt last term, but has now been given the coveted shirt number ahead of Johnstone, with the latter informed of the decision on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.
Johnstone was Palace's first choice goalkeeper for a majority of last season, but suffered an elbow injury whilst on international duty which ruled him out of action for the final two months of the season. He missed the Eagles' end of season run in and having been a contender for Gareth Southgate's EURO 2024 squad, he had to spend the summer at home instead.
Jose Sa is Wolves' first choice goalkeeper with Daniel Bentley the back-up option, but both have been linked with moves away from Molineux this summer. In June it was reported by The Sun that Sa's agent Jorge Mendes had been sounding out interest in his client, whilst Arsenal have been unsuccessful in trying to sign Bentley, with a £500,000 offer rejected.

Hide AdThe news comes after reports linking them with a move for Greek goalkeeper Christos Mandas were played down. Reports in Italy said that Lazio had been leaning towards selling Mandas, with Wolves and Southampton reportedly interested, with a £17m offer submitted but those in England played down the rumours.
Dave Azzopardi, the founder of TalkingWolves, which boasts 54.2k followers on X, said on Monday (August 12) that despite reports, there was no interest from Wolves, and that no bid had been made.
