Wolves tipped to move for experienced 67-goal Premier League forward after rivals complete £27m deal
Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering a shock move for West Ham United forward Michail Antonio in the final few weeks of the transfer window, according to reports.
Gary O’Neil has already added Norwegian ace Jorgen Strand Larsen to his team’s striker options after his 13-goal season for Celta Vigo last term. He is expected to provide competition for Brazilian Matheus Cunha after his 12 goal Premier League season last time out.

Füllkrug is likely to emerge as West Ham’s first choice number nine after a string of solid performances for Germany at Euro 2024. Meanwhile, first choice right winger Jarrod Bowen is also capable of playing through the middle when needed. Veteran Danny Ings is also in the mix to provide competition and will be hoping to shake off his recent injury issues.
Antonio has been West Ham’s first choice for a number of seasons and boasts a record of 67 goals in 254 Premier League games for the Hammers whilst also shining in both the Europa League and Europa Conference League in recent years.
The 34-year-old is known for his physicality, speed and his ability in the air. He remains a handful for defenders despite his age and is thought to be a profile of player that O’Neil is interested in.

However, the one remaining stumbling block in the deal appears to be Antonio’s wage demands as he currently commands a salary of £100,000 per week in east London.
