Fabrizio Romano names ex-Man City star as Wolves’ first choice Pedro Neto replacement
Wolves are on the hunt for a new playmaker after the £54m sale of Pedro Neto to Chelsea
Football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has named Ajax starlet Carlos Forbs as Wolves’ number one transfer target to replace Pedro Neto this summer.

Neto spent five seasons of his career at Molineux and registered a total of 14 goals and 24 assists during his 135 appearances for the Old Gold across all competitions. He was a fan favourite due to his incredible speed, agility and ability to produce moments of magic in the final third of the pitch.
The 24-year-old will be heavily missed by fans at Molineux next term after his move to Chelsea, leaving manager Gary O’Neil with the unenviable task of trying to finding a suitable replacement with the blockbuster £54m that the club has received.
Supposed top target, Forbs is a product of the highly esteemed Manchester City academy, that was brought to the North West from Sporting Lisbon when he was just 11-years-old. He progressed through the City youth team alongside the likes of Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and James Trafford and has been a regular fixture in all of Portugal’s youth team games from U16 to U21 at international level while notably making the U19 European Championship Team of the Tournament.
Forbs registered an eye-catching 25 goals and 13 assists in his final season at U21 level for Manchester City before joining Dutch heavyweights Ajax in a huge £14m deal, before evening making his senior debut.
The 20-year-old registered four goals and five assists in 34 appearances during his first senior season whilst playing for an underperforming Ajax team last season. Forbs was praised by pundits for his directness on the ball and his ability to take on defenders and get fans off their seats.
Forbs is seen as a top target due to his familiarity with England, having spent nine years in England with Manchester City. Furthermore, he possesses a lot of the same traits which made Neto such a big hit in English football.
At 20-years of age, he has already gained experience in top European competitions such as the Europa League and Europa Conference League, and is seen as a player that could grow into a major star in years to come as he continues to develop his qualities.
