Wolves confirm yet another exit from the club as new defender links emerge

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that defender Bendeguz Bolla will return to Grasshopper Club Zurich on a season-long loan for the 2022/23 season.

The 22-year-old spent the entirety of the last campaign with the Swiss club, too, impressing greatly in his 32 appearances which saw him score four goals and provide three assists from right-back.

With Ki-Jana Hoever also moving out on loan to PSV this month and Nelson Semedo rumoured to be a wanted man, this leaves Wolves, who are yet to make a signing this summer, extremely short.

Despite the senior squad seemingly decreasing in size by the day, strategic player marketing manager Matt Jackson explained the decision to once again allow the Hungarian to leave the club.

“It’s good continuation for him,” he said.

“He was excellent last season and is comfortable in the environment. He’s established himself in the international squad and this move should allow that to continue.

“We want him to really impose himself and be one of the best players in the league next season.”

Wolves among a number of clubs monitoring Brazilian

With all the defenders heading out, it’s probably about time Wolves got touted with bringing one in.

Brazilian centre-back Robert Renan is being linked with a number of high-profile European clubs including Bruno Lage’s side with journalist Jorge Nicola claiming the player’s agent has been in England this past week to discuss a move with a few sides.

Renan, 20, who currently plays his trade in his home nation for Corinthians, has just two senior appearances to his name so looks more like a name for the future. Something that will only add more frustration to fans of the gold and black.

However, it’s still going to take a fee of around €10m or €11m to land his services if Wolves are serious about a move.
